How it works

Following a consultation to assess your suitability for treatment, we take 3D scans of your teeth, allowing us to accurately map out precisely how your teeth will move. These images also allow us to re-create an exact model of your teeth, from which the laboratory can manufacture your aligners.

During your treatment, you’ll be able to take your aligners out for up to 2 hours a day, giving you the freedom to perform your normal oral hygiene routine and eat without hassle. It’s this fantastic degree of autonomy that patients (particularly adults) are so attracted to when they first hear about Invisalign.

What can Invisalign_® fix?

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

Open bite

An Open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.

Is it painful?

Whilst Invisalign shouldn’t be painful, it may take a day or two to acclimatise to each new set of aligners. Most patients don’t even notice they’re wearing them after very little time.

2. Will I need to wear a retainer?

Will I need to wear a retainer?

As with other forms of orthodontic treatment, you will need to wear a retainer once the aligner-wearing treatment period is complete. This is to ensure your teeth don’t return to their original position.

3. How long will my treatment take?

How long will my treatment take?

The average treatment time with Invisalign is 6-12 months. The length of your treatment will depend on how misaligned, crowded or spaced your teeth are prior to commencing the treatment.

What a great experience. Arjun and his team were kind, helpful and informative. It is a great set up - a relaxed waiting area with a TV screen, water and coffee available. After filling out a simple form, I was taken through into one of the rooms. Arjun was clear with his explanation, always making me feel comfortable and telling me how things were looking as we went on. I cannot rate Vertue highly enough - I will be back again!

Saw Arjun Varma today after not going to a dentist in 7 years as had enough of being poked and prodded. But the way he did my clean and tartar removal was the most gentle experience I’ve had so far with a dentist!
